As one of the smallest regions in Spain, this coastal paradise is located in the north of Spain, with Santander as its capitol. Like Asturias, this region is part of "Green Spain" as it offers lush green vegetation throughout the land, due to a wet and oceanic presence. Lot's of cows and sheep roaming the foothills, as this region is also a major provider of dairy to the entire country. The capitol Santander, is a popular vacation destination for most Spaniards as well as many Europeans, with beautiful beaches, walkways, and many of the best seafood restaurants in the country. When visiting coastal Cantabria, make sure you order "Sardinas a la plancha" for an unfortgetable seafood tasting experience.
